About Us
Team, Binita Sen Weaves, welcomes you to the world of handloom weaves and colours!
Our Brand Story:
Binita Sen Weaves was conceived by Binita Sen as a platform to promote the use of traditional Indian weaves in the urban and international market place. Based solely on hand crafted, hand woven and handmade products for men and women, our designs are an eclectic mix of traditional weaves and contemporary styling.
We work with 200 weavers pan India from Assam, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, West Bengal and Tamil Nadu to create exclusive Silks, Linens, Cottons and Khadi Sarees, Suits, Dupattas, Stoles, neck-ties and pocket squares.
It is our endeavour to create sustainable employment for weavers and artisans at the grass root level. To revive traditional weaving methods while using only natural fibres which are environment friendly and also good for the health of the consumer worldwide. Textiles hold a deep significance in our lives. We pass them on from generation to generation as heirloom pieces and collectibles, as we travel across India and engage in its immense diversity of colour design and folklore it is evident that weaving is the underlying fabric of our culture.
Unravelling across centuries and evolving with changing times. These weaves and weave styles differ from state to state in India and also from region to region within a state. These textiles have ancient myths and stories woven into exquisite Sarees and textiles describing our beliefs and depicting our lives and times. These weaves provide an important link not only to our past but also present and future.
Binita Sen Weaves was born out of the belief that all Indian textiles represented the very fabric of our being and culture and would outlast commercialisation if one was to weave them into contemporary sensibilities and bridge the gap between ancient forms of weaving and urban sensitivities.
It was an endeavour to revive the slowly vanishing weaving forms which were unable to compete with the onslaught of factory-made flashy alternatives.
We promise you authentic, indigenous, Indian weaves – that are truly unique. Never before or never again, will you find a piece of apparel or accessory exactly like it, as we believe in creating pieces as unique as you are.
The products are exclusively handcrafted, of premium quality and emphasize the MADE IN INDIA philosophy and make great gifts reflecting the diversity and traditions of India. We hope you will cherish our unique, handmade pieces and make it your legacy.
At Binita Sen Weaves, our motto is:
"Connecting you to the spirit of India, one thread at a time."
Warm Regards,
Binita Sen
